At Sterling Extracts, we showcase and enhance the flavors of medicinal herbs and spices by concentrating much of the alcohol out of our extracts and then gently sweetening them with the world's best tasting organic honey from Hawaii.
We avoid bad tasting and potentially toxic artificial sweeteners and sugar-like substances such as stevia (known for its terrible after taste). We also avoid toxic artificial preservatives such as sodium benzoate (known to be mutagenic to DNA). Instead, we trust in our own herbal extracts to function as natural preservatives, such as clove extract (known to inhibit cancer growth and treat stomach ulcers).
Our supplements are not subjected to total desiccation by being dried into a less absorbable powdered form and subsequently being encapsulated into mystery shells. What are capsule shells usually made from anyways? Chinese gelatin sourced from farm animals raised with questionable animal husbandry standards or semisynthetic vegetarian materials.
We also avoid using mystery glycerin to extract or sweeten our supplements. What is glycerin anyways? Vegetable glycerin is the most common form of glycerin used by supplement manufacturers. It is derived from an unspecified type of vegetable oil (such as soy, corn, palm, or coconut) as a byproduct of the soap making or biodiesel manufacturing industries. Glycerin can also be extracted from animal fats or made synthetically from petroleum. It is much cheaper and less flavorful than our high-quality organic honey.
