The Respiratory Support formula contains Goldenseal and Mullen.  These herbs may help to reduce and thin excessive secretions from mucous membranes in the sinuses and lungs.
​Goldenseal is believed to have a strong astringent property that helps contract bodily tissues and may aid in drying up excess mucus and clearing congested sinuses.  It contains the alkaloid berberine.  In laboratory settings (in vitro), berberine has shown activity against certain bacteria and viruses, which might help the body fight off the pathogens responsible for respiratory infections.
Mullein supports the respiratory system primarily by acting as an expectorant and demulcent. As an expectorant, it helps loosen and expel excess mucus from the lungs, making coughs more productive. As a demulcent, its mucilage content soothes and coats irritated mucous membranes in the throat and airways, which can relieve a cough and reduce inflammation
